Disclaimer: This page is accurate as of 14 Dec 2021. It excludes any plugins intended to assist staff with moderating the server. It also excludes WorldGuard, WorldEdit, CraftBook and RuneCraft which each require hefty documentation and as such are often given their own pages. It also excludes most Commands which, again, have their own page.

Brewery

Documentation: https://github.com/DieReicheErethons/Brewery/wiki/Homepage
Allows players to brew alcoholic potions with custom effects. Only absinthe is currently enabled. Absinthe will give you blindness for a couple of seconds, then poison for ~10 seconds. During this time, any chat messages will come out jarbled. Brewing instructions:

  1. Place a cauldron over a fire, lava block, or other heat source.
  2. Using a water bucket, fill the cauldron with water.
  3. Right click on the filled cauldron with 'lots' of grass - 16 is sufficient.
  4. Wait a short period, then right click on the cauldron with a clock.
  5. If the game then tells you that your brew is at least two minutes old, then right click on the cauldron with an empty bottle.
  6. Place the now-filled bottle in a brewing stand. Add glowstone dust to the brewing stand as well. Monitor the brew.
  7. Congratulations, you have brewed your first absinthe!

Optional: you can make a Brew Sealing Table by crafting 1x2 empty bottles over 2x2 wood planks of the same variety. Then, you can place your absinthe in this table to make it compatible with ChestShops. 'brew unlabel' while holding absinthe in your on-hand will have the same effect.

ChestShop

Chestshop allows players to buy and sell items from a chest using the server currency. To set up a chest shop, place down a chest, and inside put the item(s) you want to sell. Then, place a sign on the front, back, left, or right face of the chest. The sign should read as follows:

Playername
Amount
B # : S #
Itemname

The number after B is the price someone will buy the specified amount of item from you. The number after S is the price you will buy the specified amount of item from people. If you desire, you can make a chestshop with just the B, or just the S - no need for the colon in this case. As a customer, you can hold down shift to always buy/sell in 64 stacks, rather than the listed amount. Right click buys, left click sells.

SimplePortals

SimplePortals allows the steward and administrator ranked players to construct in-game nether-portal-like structures as portals to different locations or worlds. These are the quartz circles with flowing water you may see placed around the map. To use, simply swim through the water.

TreeAssist

When you break a log from a naturally-grown tree, while holding an axe, the entire tree will be cut down. Your axe will take durability equal to the number of logs cut down. You will take a penalty to hunger, and, if your axe has insufficient durability, you may end up with a floating half-tree as an end result. The tree will automatically replant itself. Leaves will decay quickly and may drop apples, golden apples, and sticks in addition to usual items. If using a fortune or silk touch axe, the leaves will be affected by that enchantment as if you broke them with that axe. This plugin may rarely break in older areas of the map.

Craftbook

Craftbook, similar to Runecraft, is a plugin that adds new structures and mechanics in the game itself. As craftbook is a large plugin with existing documentation, there is little point creating a resource for it here. As such, for Craftbook, see here. On Novylen, the following mechanics are enabled:

WorldGuard

WorldGuard commands are, for the most-part Mod+ only. You can see the documentation here in any case. Right clicking with a wooden sword in hand will tell you whether you are standing in a protected region and whether you have permissions to build. /rg info will tell you which region you are standing in and what the 'flags' are. Too many flags to list - again, see the documentation. Mods may be able to change some flags for you, within reason. This is at their own discretion.
