It depends on your definition of "server" and the criteria you are using to determine which is the oldest. We are "one of the oldest known Minecraft servers". The server went online the day of the release of Minecraft Multiplayer Wed Aug 04 10:12:39 PDT 2010, hosting [[rbos]]' infdev single-player world - and has not reset its' map since [https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/archive/alpha/alpha-survival-multiplayer/821444-serendipitious#c1][https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89IKXWCBR-g][https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t66JhYx1lpA]. We also host a [[creative]] world with builds copied over from [[rbos]]' old Minecraft Classic server. The server has had limited downtime, mainly for server maintenance and when updating to a new patch. |

Fullbright, minimaps, texture packs and schematics are fine, as long as there are no x-ray mining or auto-build functions. All blocks must be placed in a vanilla manner. Feel free to ask about any specific mod if you are unsure. Non-desktop logins are not supported but are allowed. |

We believe that if we host voice channels on Discord, it is our responsibility to make sure they aren't used for malicious purposes. This means we would have to moderate them, which we don't want to do. |

The server is usually running the latest version, with the exception of the weeks after a major patch. Players can also join on many older versions with ViaVersion. |

Also try resetting your router. Sometimes certain areas will have trouble connecting to our ISP. |

Visit the "Very Old Places" board at /spawn by the waterladder and stargate. Infdev blocks are located around /dial [[First Spawn|1spawn]]. |

On the rare occasion no [[staff]] are online, you can use the following command in game to open a ticket: /ticket create <msg>. A moderator will see your message the next time they log on. Use this for region requests, to report griefing, harrassment, cheating, etc. |

/home set <homename> You can set up to 5 homes. |

Chests and furnaces are automatically locked on placement with bolt. You can also lock doors, hoppers and other inventory blocks. Use /bolt help <subcommand> for a list of commands. |

We use worldguard regions to protect builds from griefers. Once you have a build underway, at the location type /ticket create <all the details needed for its completion> Make sure you explain what your ticket is for, unexplained /tickets will simply be deleted. You can add members and some region flags by typing /rg info and clicking in chat. |

<b>What is a Stargate? How do I use it?</b> |

Stargates are the obsidian rings you will see standing at /spawn and other places. Hit the lever and it will prompt you to type /dial <gatename> Then step through! You can build your own stargates by simply constructing the obsidian parts, adding the lever and turning it on. It will prompt you to type /nxcomplete <gatename> and charge a 100p creation fee. This fee will be returned if you choose to delete the stargate with /nxremove. There are lists of interesting destinations to visit at /spawn. Players are able to fly when they are near an "Advanced Flight Field", which is a magical structure from the [[Runecraft]] plugin. [[Runecraft]] uses Energy to create many different magical effects and tools. The world is 40k x 40k. There are currently no plans to expand the world border. The restricted areas allow for the generation of new terrain after updates without having to regenerate chunks that players have built on. |

We switched it off in 2022 for the following reasons: overpowered in a PVP scenario, deletes blocks and items, complaints from players. |

Probably not. After disabling the bow, we discovered that players were also using it to make mining for netherite significantly less challenging. It simply presents too many possibilities for unintended power creep. |
