Weekee City is a town that has started construction in late August of 2011, and is still being gradually built. It is currently closed to the public, and citizenship will remain invite only as it's completed. The future owners will be chris9086 and ChineseAnonymous, the chief designer.
Concept and Design
The inspiration for Weekee City is Hyrule Castle Town from many of the Legend of Zelda video games. It will be surrounded by a large wall composed of Stone Brick, which will have a moat in front of it. The main entrance will be blocked by a gate, and any visitors will require permission in order to enter; two greenhouses for wheat immediately follow, and there will be two staircases to climb the castle walls for defensive purposes.
There is a town center being built, which will contain a sugarcane farm, a mine entry point, and possibly other businesses, along with a stargate. There will be a housing district for the residents to live in, and plans for a hotel for players to stay in, with provided storage capabilities.
The completion of Weekee City will occur when the final version of Minecraft is released.
Tourism
Today, there is a shop that while is being stocked, offers blocks such as logs and cobblestone for low prices per stack. Players wishing to purchase from the store may do so by warping to ChineseAnonymous' home. However because the front door will be locked to prevent players from leaving, they will have to leave by teleporting to the spawn, or to their own home.
Theme
The city originally had a medieval and wild west theme planned, but was scrapped. The up-to-date version will use grey-toned stone for the ground and outer walls, while using more elaborate blocks such as wood and cloth for the structures.
