Runecraft 3 is a plugin that adds magic runes to Minecraft. It is among the oldest Minecraft mods, and is much-loved by the Novylen playerbase. Runecraft can teleport you across the map, allow you to craft magic armour, construct one-block infinite water sources, and so much more. Runecraft documentation is often difficult to find, and the Runecraft Wiki itself is currently under reconstruction due to data loss. As such, information on Runecraft for Novylen players will be documented here, in one centralised location.

Basics of Runecraft

Runecraft is a plugin that has no /commands. Instead, all mechanics involve building structures in game with real blocks. In order to use many Runecraft mechanics, you must first obtain Runic Energy. Runic Energy is created by burning your items, or throwing them into lava. It can also be created using the Aether Chest rune (see below). Different items generate different amounts of Runic Energy. You can store up to 4 million runic energy at a given time. It does not expire when you log off.

Runecraft structures are built with three different types of blocks:

  1. Tier Blocks (aka Ink Blocks): These are the main blocks used to construct the runecraft structures (runes). Different blocks may have different tiers, meaning they give more or less power to your rune (usually). For more information on tiers and energy, see here. Typically, your rune may not mix and match different tier blocks.
  2. Structure Blocks: These are very specific blocks that are needed to create a rune. They may also double as tier blocks or key blocks.
  3. Key Blocks: These are blocks you choose to personalise your rune. They may also double as tier or structure blocks.

The teleporter uses Tier 1 blocks and higher. When right-clicked, if the signature matches the signature of a waypoint (check to ensure that the N/S/E/W match between waypoint and teleporter) then these blocks will be consumed. From then on, right-clicking the middle of the rune will teleport you to that waypoint. This does not work across worlds. If the waypoint uses a higher tier of block than the teleporter, you must put a tier block in the optional space that matches it.

The waypoint uses Tier 1 blocks and higher. Once built, if a unique signature block pattern is used, it can be activated with a right click. Teleporters can then link to this waypoint until it is destroyed.

All Enabled Runes

Disclaimer: This list is accurate as of Dec 15 2021. Feel free to experiment. But, just because a rune is enabled doesn't mean you have a free pass to use it to grief, dupe items, break the economy, etc. Use common sense. If a rune's powers are too good to be true, they are probably meant to be disabled.
